We believe that there is value in salvaging and reusing old goods to the right homes. We believe used items are better for the environment than new items. We believe old items have a certain style that is lacking in today's merchandise. Bring sustainable, elegant designs to your home. Old things are for all people, both youths and youths at heart.
We believe in honesty and transparency in our dealings. All items have been saved for a second life from Sacramento, CA. We do our best to date products and verify marks, and we price according to three factors: age, condition, and rarity. Pieces that cannot be verified with high confidence as genuine vintage are intentionally labeled vintage-style, but may be 20+ years old anyway. With makers that produced products over long periods, we try to accurately date the pattern of the piece and maker's marker to the best of our ability and provide photographs of the mark for buyer verification purposes. We do our best to describe the condition of the item. We only list items that are past their useful life (such as beautiful older china from quality & hard to find brands with crazing) that we believe retains value for interior designing, and we label it as for display purposes.
We believe items that were discarded due to small imperfections are still usable and do not belong in the trash. While marked down compared to if the item was in perfect condition, we believe there is a market for people who would rather reuse an imperfect item with some character that tells its story than let an item end up in a landfill.
We believe in reducing packaging waste and, where possible, hand-make correctly sized boxes out of good-condition cardboard scrap & reused newspapers and other cushioning materials.
